I'm not saying that trans children in all cases should have access to every level of medical transition

I am saying, support their gender identities and create an environment in which they can safely and creatively express it

I am also saying let providers of trans heathcare determine which kids or teens need, and are ready for, trans healthcare, in collaboration with kids, teens and (where they are supportive) their parents

and I am saying, putting arbitrary age limits on autonomy and readiness for healthcare makes me uncomfortable

in all honesty though, if you genuinely think parts of your are feminine, you shouldn't be attacked for it

Wearing dresses adds +5 to your song writing and guitar playing skills. That's just a fact.

OK, but at what age did they transition, the people in this study? I’m only concerned for children because they tend to be unwise.
14.5 average age . I just read the study in pubmed
Link?

This one: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35452119/

suggest desistance between 19-30%
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33968550/

This says that of the 27 studies done involving 7,928 patients who had gender affirming SURGERIES, the regret rate was less than 1%. The study you linked involves the continuation of hormone treatment

Thanks for that. I'll take a look, but I suspect it's one Turban cites all the time which means it's mostly data dealing with adults from outside the US where the standard is "watchful waiting" (aka the 'Dutch Protocol') vs here where it's "affirmation first". WW is the superior approach and would naturally reduce regret because the gatekeeping to medicalised transition is much, much higher.

This is a good point. Individual shower and changing spaces is the most effective way to protect kids from discomfort in gym class.

This is the solution yes, gotta recognize that EE said something similar last page as well, but there is a lot of time and space between today and this, and there needs to be a balance between providing safe spaces for all kids (trans included!)

Contrast this with the worst "solution": https://www.ldnews.com/story/news/2023/ ... 135798007/
