Re: No Code: Official Album Thread
i hope the band considers a No Code tour show for the next vault release, and not Berlin either. not that that's a bad choice, but much like Atlanta '94, most of us have already heard it.
it'd be nice to have another Jack-era show.

I'm a sucker to consider buying this a second time just for the clear vinyl, but not a big enough sucker to pay that obscene shipping price into Canada!dad wrote:man, that clear vinyl is still available in the shop. might have to grab it.

So far as I remember, there are no Jack era shows released through the vault. If they have a high quality from Randall’s Island 2 that would be ideal.

Chicago 95 was released but incomplete and with a very poor mastering (no treble at all).liebzz wrote:So far as I remember, there are no Jack era shows released through the vault. If they have a high quality from Randall’s Island 2 that would be ideal.
DC 95 was also stealth released but with weird beeps in two places obscuring the music. Believed to be a test upload that somebody found and liberated LOL.

WCT is correct. there are Jack era shows, but nothing from No Code, officially.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Chicago 95 was released but incomplete and with a very poor mastering (no treble at all).liebzz wrote:So far as I remember, there are no Jack era shows released through the vault. They did, it's just the encores were in lesser quality.
I don't believe they have multi-track tapes of the full show (as with many older shows).

Oh. My memory was that they sold the 2 disc version that cut out the encores. I am getting hazy.Birds in Hell wrote:They did, it's just the encores were in lesser quality.

That's always been one of my absolute faves. Just epitomizes so much of what PJ gets right.VinylGuy wrote:Hail Hail might be my favorite song from this era

The physical version is the main set with the bad mastering. The encores were only included with the download, and were taken from a bootleg or something. A real shit-show.
There is no logical reason the full show wouldn't have been recorded. So they either lost the multi-tracks of the encore, or they more likely decided to include the encore with the download at the last minute and were too lazy to mix it. I've seen it before (Beatles "Let It Be" box set has baffling decisions like this) so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Listened to this today, first time in a long time. Such a special album.
Their ‘atonement’ album
is the version on Apple Music a remix? i listened with earbuds and could swear i heard new things in ‘Hail Hail’ that I had not heard before
Jack really shines in this era
