Don't worry. It's not a scary movie at all. It's more silly.spike wrote:Chapter Two has a pretty great cast, but that clown creeps me out too much to watch.

Burnt
« Adam Jones is a chef who destroyed his career with drugs and diva behavior. He cleans up and returns to London, determined to redeem himself by spearheading a top restaurant that can gain three Michelin stars.»
Should be a good long weekend for movies, this will be the first one.
37th last movie from 2015

Re: What movies are you watching?
Last night, I finally saw the movie that almost certainly has the longest tenure on 'the list'. You know, 'I havent seen it but it's on the list", the list of movies I want to see. Bound (1996), directed of course by the Wachowskis.
It made the list because I fell in love with The Matrix when I was 13, but I didn't watch it because my impression was that it was a lesbian sex movie and that's overwhelming (not to mention inaccessible) to a thirteen year old. By the time I was capable of watching sexy movies (say age 19 or 20), I had kind of fallen out of love with the Matrix through over-watching. (Luckily, that period has passed).
But I'm over all that now and I've finally seen Bound. It was so great!
There are a couple of sexy scenes at the beginning, but there's a lot more going on. The star of the movie, both in terms of strength of performance but also just pure screentime and being the protagonist that drives the narrative the most, is an increasingly desperate Joe Pantoliano.
There's also just a bunch of fun stylistic things going on, interesting twists that transform what would otherwise be regular scenes into beautiful set pieces, some weird stuff going on with the sound effects, just a lot of fun and really beautiful. I can see the through-line to The Matrix, even though there are no sci-fi elements in this movie.
Loved it

It is very sexy for about half an hour. But a good and cool sexy. Then it gets less sexy and more interesting. Very playful, cinematic

Focus
« In the midst of veteran con man Nicky's latest scheme, a woman from his past - now an accomplished femme fatale - shows up and throws his plans for a loop.»
Wanted to see this one for a while.
It was ok. Looks like the actors had a good time.

The Guilty
Really enjoyed this. Jake Gyllenhaal is a hell of an actor.
