The 12-string bass is on MFS I think.

apparently mike is playing a 6 string bass in MFS. that was confirmed. I have trouble hearing it even in the flac, but I may not know what I'm listening for.

I know this much. The flac files and a good pair of headphones take this album to a much grander place. Hearing lots of things I definitely couldn't pick up from the stream. Songs like SBM come alive this way. Even *gasp* Future Days sounds palatable!

I'd like that
It'll be structured the same as this one

I'm still having trouble with the structure of this one.
Who's that architect with all the buildings that have all odd boxes sticking out at funny angles?
It's this

I think I used to have a theory like this, too, but I can't remember what track # was "lucky" for me. Maybe I'll look into that today.

Yeah, I think this and Sirens are the ones that are most striking at this point in their career. Not just for being different, but being different and good. That might ultimately make them the two best songs on the record for me.

stip wrote:I kinda wish the acoustic and jangly electric guitars had different tones for the first verse. I like them on the chorus.

Nice little harmonics to transition into the 2nd verse.

The dddddddrown part is kinda dumb.

Can definitely make out more parts now. Still swallowed whole feels a little crowded.

Bridge sounds great

For all the solos on this record mike only has two I love. Lbolt and mym. I really like the idea of the solo here, but I can't bring myself to love it
This is one of my favorite solos in a long, long time.

Yeah, I don't hate the lyrics to this one the way I thought I would, and some are really good (I'd paid no attention to anything about this song after listening to the Wrigley one once, so it was essentially new to me).

This Sirens line had been unclear to me. Now that it's clarified, I like it:

Yeah, I fucked up the Sirens lyrics initially and then they leaked all over the Internet with all the typos in. Oops.

Sadly, I have to leave for work in a few minutes.

I noticed in MYM, that the lyric is

I caught myself believing
that I needed God
and if it's out there somewhere
we sure could use hymns now
:nice:

As great as Ed sounds on this album, Jeff is the MVP. I think he may have saved the band for me.

Just bought my LB cd. It's a lovely package. Always good to have the real thing.

Got a free poster with it.

Insert Stillwater 'but you're the only one in focus!' Gag here:)
