We were in Disney World last week. I almost bought this box set about a dozen times but couldn't bring myself to spend $70. I wanted it bad though lol.

$70 doesn't seem like a bad price for that really.

I applaud your self control.

True when you break it down per figure the price isn't so bad I did all the internal justifications :D but my wife and kids wanted stuff and in the end I'd rather spend on them than me. Plus then I thought ok you buy it then what? Keep it in the box? Display the figures? I'm pretty immature but I'm not actually gonna play with them. I'd be buying them for my 6 year old self and that kid grew up. I did want them though....maybe next trip lol.

I have all 6 of those in various states of disrepair.

I know I had all of them when I was a kid. No idea what Mom did with all those. I hope she at least sold some of them rather than just pitching them all.

I had them as well. No idea what ever happened to them. Buried in a landfill somewhere I’m sure.

I'm not sure if I had that Leia. I know I had Hoth Leia and Endor Leia but I can't remember if I had the original. I still have a lot of my GI Joes in a box but all my Star Wars guys are long gone.

When they opened the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel I told my wife it would close in 2-3 years. I guess I gave it too much credit.

That's crazy! Why wouldn't they just drop the price? How can shuttering a 2 year old hotel make any business sense?

does seem a little weird

surprised they don’t just cheapen it out some

but disney is pretty protective of their brand quality

so maybe they figure it either needs to be full r*tard or nothing

It was always only going to appeal to a niche audience. Not sure what they were thinking. I agree I really thought they'd lower the price and limp by for another year or so. I guessing they did internal research and even at a lower price point it wasn't viable from either a cost perspective and/or interest. I promise this isn't a shot across the bow to any ST fans on here but I think it was a mistake to not theme the hotel and the land based on the OT instead.

they are closing the hotel already? well, it looked kinda awful anyway. And yes, it was a huge mistake to base it only on the sequel trilogies. and it was also really expensive.

This is clearly a Bob v Bob thing. I'm really not surprised. A little bummed, though. Was hoping to try it out someday.
