Anyhow, pre Heller/ Mcdonald/Bruen, NRA types were anxious about adverse rulings so they didn't object too much about questionable legislation because it wasn't a given what would end up with a circuit split that would end up in their favor at SCOTUS. Now Dem legislators are on the other foot, but it's completely in their hands by not drafting legislation that would get anywhere near needing to get smacked down by Bruen precedent.

Article sounds like it was a drive by and the kid was in his own yard, not the intended target. Which is slightly less horrific, I guess.

The thing that’s been hitting me this month is how many of these shootings are just a gun owner’s trigger-fetish response to an ordinary or unremarkable event.

Someone ringing the wrong doorbell. A neighbor using a leaf blower. Someone getting in the wrong car by mistake, or pulling into the wrong driveway, or delivering food to the wrong house. A neighbor asking a neighbor for a favor.

I think those are all from April. We keep seeing more and more people so thirsty for a chance to use their gun as a means to assert themselves that there’s no impulse left to review the situation, themselves, or their options.
