 I wish I could spin Lightning Bolt more often but it's the worst music to learn to so it only gets a spin per day.

Yeah it's an emotional one.

I'm just crying because Neil young is sad that Eddie had his character kill himself

I'm sad that Neil will probably never get to tell Eddie he misinterpreted the lyric.

He wrote 25 songs during the time it took him to kind of smile and the flash to take for that photo.

15 of which are probably amazing.

He probably also built a new train

I have only heard the record 3 times through, but I am loving Swallowed Whole. Luckily, I like this type of Ed and style of music. My wife got an iphone so I got blast this one in the car on the way to the store and I felt born again. Like I haven't felt with PJ since 1998.

This song has really come out of nowhere and emerged as a real standout to me. It just seems "natural" for PJ, it doesn't feel forced (not quite the word I'm looking for) like a lot of the record. Hard to explain ;)

So far, this is the low point of the album for me. Not that it's a terrible song or anything, but it's so vanilla and obvious and been there, done that. Forgettable. I've listened to it twice in the last hour and I can't tell you anything about how it sounds. Just that it sounds like an old ITW song and there's a lot of lyrics about the Earth.

I love the song. It's top 5 on this album for me.
I have a little problem with what seems to be a main criticism that it sounds like ITW.
I does have that feel but it is really a fair crit considering that work isn't pearl jam?
I think the band takes it to a different level personally. Not arguing against you not liking it just curious. Personally I think it suffers most from its placement on te album. It is more of a rocker that seems inconsequential because of how potent the top 3 are.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Which ITW song does this sound like?

I don't think any one in particular personally. The beginning does have that vibe or aesthetic but it is squashed as soon as the whole band picks the song up.

Take the band away, make it just ed and an acoustic, put it on Into The Wild and nobody would blink an eye.

Wasn't buying into the whole suicide thing until I saw the artwork of the six chamber and re-read the lyrics.
Very subtle connection but legit

They should blink a little bit. Otherwise the eyes dry out

You mean Yellow Moon or is this one suicide too?

Just the general aesthetic. Doesn't immediately remind me of one individual song.
