Snark-free post disclosure. I’m genuinely baffled / curious over this.

So you go to fill out a survey and they want your demographics (age, race, income, etc.). For gender they now ask not what gender are you, but what you identify as. Ok fine.

I saw one yesterday asking what gender you “mostly identify” as. What does this mean? Like, it changes by the week, by the hour? I’m 60% this and 40% that? What does it mean.

gender-fluid encompasses any sense of gender identity that isn't static; it's an umbrella term that can be split down further to describe how that works for you, or it can be used as it is

if your gender identity changes, fluctuates, etc. then gender-fluid is a word you can use for that if you want

e.g. you might identify as a man at times, non-binary at others, woman in some contexts; you might be agender and feel nothing about it, on some days, but feel more strongly within a certain gender on other days (a word you can use for that is "genderflux")
