2 humpbacks out now about 400 yards...shit never gets old or boring
there are dumbasses here who see the whales and then drive their boat up close to look
not understanding that the whale might smash or capsize their boat due to whale movements

I've probably mentioned this before but Pender Bay on the Dampier Peninsular in remote NW Western Australia is probably my favourite place in the whole wide world. I'd like some of my ashes spread up there when I die (as compared to beforehand). It's a huge humpback whale breeding ground and is just amazingly diverse from an aquatic wildlife perspective.
I'm pretty sure that by law in Aus you have to remain 100m away from all whales.

Did some yard work for mom over the weekend and found some poison ivy/oak. Arm looks pretty gross about now. Hopefully it dries up quickly

Re: Talk about your day thread
I’ve done a couple whale watching cruises. Most of the time you don’t see much but once our boat was surrounded by six or seven humpbacks fairly close and it was magical. No breaching but lot of flippers and flukes coming out of the water and surfacing to breathe and some feeding activity.
