Boiled up a brine of beer, garlic, onion, red pepper flakes, and jalapeños in the Staub. Have brats soaking in there now for a couple hours. Then I’ll briefly simmer the brats in the brine and grill them for a few minutes. Picked up a spicy brown mustard to top em.

Sounds delicious.

Is that really a brine, tho? Sounds more like a marinade. Unless you salted it up tremendously, I guess.

The recipe I found calls it a brine, but you have a point. There is S&P in there too, but not brine level.

With those jalapeños in there, that might be a bad idea.

Remind me to tell my habanero story sometime…

Back when I worked at Radio Shack, during X-ray school, the owners would pretty much buy lunch every day. On a particular day of the week, one of the local restaurants would have “wet burritos.” Basically a beef burrito covered with chili. Fucking delicious. The owners were a husband/wife duo and she liked to eat really hot stuff. She smoked probably 2 packs a day so it’s a wonder she could taste anything. Anywho, I don’t remember who brought them but we had some habeneros so we decided to dice them up and add to our burritos one day. I took the plunge and cut them up. No gloves or anything. Washed my hands when I finished. No big deal. We had our burritos and the habaneros were a great addition. Then Wease had to pee. So I’m taking a piss and it starts to burn. Like REALLY burn. My hands of course still had oil from the peppers and you could actually see the marks on my dong where my fingers had touched it. So I’m trying to think of something, ANYTHING I could do to make it stop, so I put my cock in the sink and I’m frantically splashing water on it. Doesn’t help. I finally resign myself to the fact this is just gonna have to wear off. So I dry off, zip up and work in agony the rest of the day.
