Yeah, the coach said today it was a bad scheme fit and they would not be hiring Rob Ryan.

He'd be great on the Patriots sidelines as a position coach and or Homeless guy 2.

A few comments about this data:
--For shame, Ada County: still too many bandwagon Cowboys fans. The Broncos and Seahawks contingents must have split down the line to allow that to happen.
--That being said, I've always noticed that Broncos fans seem to be one of the rare fanbases that doesn't really hate the Cowboys like most other fanbases do. I know that I've been fairly indifferent to them. It doesn't surprise me that was the #1 friend fanship for them.
--I love it that the Niners dominate the whole Bay Area. Move back to LA already, Raiders, and stop infesting that wonderful part of the country.
--Nassau County is the only county Jets fans win. :haha: To any New York folk, is that what would you would expect?
--I'm impressed as to how strict the boundaries are in the NFC North states. Very well done, except for all of you in that western tip of Michigan.
--Are the majority of Facebook users in Cuyahoga County really pulling for the Ravens in the Super Bowl? As well as western PA? I can get most of Minnesota pulling for the Ravens (Matt Birk), but Florida? Ray Lewis over Frank Gore?

You have to realize that Ray Lewis is seen as pretty much the Godfather of UM football. And they have Ed Reed who is also beloved. People like Frank Gore down here as well, but I think there's a certain reverence for the other two guys among a lot of UM fans. Throw in that this is Lewis' last dance and I'm not surprised at all if more people down here are rooting for the Ravens.

I forgot about Reed. I guess Ray Ray would be the current dean of 'Canes players--from some reason I was thinking even further back.

On another weird note, I just had a dream that the 49ers won the Super Bowl, and Justin Smith was the MVP. It would have to be the mother of all defensive battles for that to happen--and Smith would probably also have to score a fat guy touchdown.

Seems like kind of an odd hire, but the Bucs have hired Dave Wannstedt as Special Teams Coordinator

Looks like the lions went ahead and released Titus Young. I don't really like the move, i feel like it is rewarding him for his bad attitude, shoulda suspended him for most or all of next year to punish him

Unfortunately, you can't do that. The most a team can suspend a player for is four games for conduct detrimental. They could deactivate him with pay for the whole season, but I'm sure the NFLPA would file a grievance over that.

But still, if he doesn't grow up, he'll stay "suspended" anyway--as in unemployed.

im hoping that is the case, but im sure as soon as he can be, someone will sign him. and as far as the suspension, i was thinking along the lines of Keyshawn Johnson getting suspended by the Bucs and T.O. but the Eagles, were they only 4 game suspensions then, or were rules changed after they got sat down for the year? my memory is terrible

You probably remember the Keyshawn incident better than I do, but I remember the TO one well because the last game he played in as an Eagle was in midseason when they lost to the Broncos in a blowout-blown lead-blowout again classic. They suspended him for four games and then deactivated him for the rest of the year, but the NFLPA filed a grievance saying it was excessive and that they should either be forced to reinstate him or cut him so that he could get a chance playing elsewhere. The Eagles won that case. However, considering that Young was already suspended for his past transgressions, if they tried to sit him down for an entire year just to grow up (like Coach Pete did to him at BSU), I'm sure that the NFLPA would argue that isn't a good enough reason and demand that the Lions either play of cut him. Of course, all of this is moot because he got cut as quickly as the Lions could.

I think the most hilarious landing spot for him (though not for Lions fans) would be the Bears. Either he blows up again at Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall (who have their own personality quirks) for being BFFs with the passes and catches, or he finally gets his shit together and gets to stick it to the Lions twice a year.

looks like the Bucs just deactivated him, so not suspended like i thought, and doubtful it actually taught him any lesson since he still got paid. i hate to say it, but i hope this kid doesnt really get success until he straightens out, acting like a little punk should come with some kinda discipline, even if its getting knocked around by some O linemen on the next team he is with if he keeps his mouth running.

ok, my Titus Young rant is over
