Yeah, I only track it on my Apple Watch, which I wear from like 8 am to 5 pmish, so it's not super accurate lol

Re: The Weight Loss Thread
yea, i think at avg a 40 year old man will burn about 1,700 a day without exercise.
now if you want to be calorie deficient.....
During a huge weight loss phase of mine I did about 1,500 calories total of eating, sometimes less.
Tried to burn at least 500-800 with exercise.

Felt great at my wedding then took an additional week up at the cabin eating burgers, drinking beer, cheese curds.
Came back a bloated mess and weak as hell again.
Yup, getting older sucks.
I mostly focus on cardio because its best for outdoor mountain activity. My legs will always be strong by virtue of hiking/skiing. But i need to do better at strengthening as well. Definitely need to get back into Yoga at least...
It's amazing how fast you can get bloated, etc. after just 5-7 "cheat" days. Def did not happen to me when I was in my 20s / 30s but now mid-40s and the margin for error is so slim.

really feels like I have to be militant about it and that is just exhausting. My motivation these days should be less what i look like and more how do i feel. I want to work out half as much as i used to but i have to work out twice as hard as i used to.Coach wrote:Strat wrote:The past 2 months ive been super swamped with work and preparing for my wedding. All just to maintain.
I mean, im in pretty good shape, but goddamn it sucks to have a cheat day and regret it! I want cheat days everday. I get why people gain much weight as they age. Its fucking exhausting not to.

Yeah, I was referring to Move.
My resting used to be fairly consistently around 60. The last month or so it’s averaged 66ish. No clue why.

Re: The Weight Loss Thread
My problem is that if I don't like the way I look, I don't feel good. But when I am happy with my appearance, I feel good. I hate feeling bloated and today I am bloated due to some recent cheat days myself.Strat wrote:really feels like I have to be militant about it and that is just exhausting. Re: The Weight Loss Thread
Oh gotcha, I just looked at the Fitness app on my phone, I've had been slacking on exercise over the last few weeks and it's shown up on the scale. It's really a pretty easy equation - the workouts count a lot and I need to improve.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:It’s on my app on Summary.Coach wrote:My resting heart rate is usually mid 50s to mid-upper 60s

If I have drink/eat cheat days/weekends, my resting heart rate goes way up.

Re: The Weight Loss Thread
that's great, numbers.
If I recall you had been in the 180s and then down to the high 170s and now living the good life in the low 170s, high 160s (that was kinda hard to type).
I also have a head cold, interesting.

I mean I could deal with it for another week if I had to, but I'll stick to this cold I have instead and see what transpires.
I might hit the gym and try to sweat it out tonight.
