I, Daniel Blake

«After surviving a heart-attack, a 59-year-old carpenter must fight bureaucratic forces to receive Employment and Support Allowance.»

Did see this when it was new, but remember less than usual.

Good movie for showing how difficult like can be when you get older, or can’t work, and struggle with finances.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Not really fun at all. But Ken Loach is a talented director.

Tonight was movie night at my parents house. This week my Dad chose Get Carter. Really enjoyed it. I haven't seen enough good Michael Caine performances.

Decided to rewatch Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day. Both action filled, true story movies from 2016, with Mark Wahlberg.

Nearly done with DH, which is a little bit better than I remember. Will watch Patriots Day later today.

Really enjoying this so far. Interesting story about the start of the McDonald’s concept.

It was fine, but confident I won’t watch it again. Keaton was less annoying in the second half!

Did anyone ever see Fool's Paradise?

It got terrible reviews and I don't recall it coming out, but apparently it did.
