Was not aware that The Mule had gone full Pink Floyd before. They’re coming to the Chicago region in August to do just that, and this sounds great…

Negative Space by Queens of the Stone Age.

Was unimpressed with the live version pre-album release but the real deal is a beaut. Kind of like a Domesticated Animals 2.0.

New Music Friday rolls around again.

Spoon - Silver Girl (this should have been on their last record rather than a B-side)
YYY - Spitting Off the Edge of the World (the "lush version", which might be better than the take on the record)
Swans - No More of This (I have a lot of work to do to catch up with Gira's music properly)
Cory Hanson - Housefly (hard not to like the sound of that guitar)
Albert Hammond Jr - False Alarm (the track that stood out the most on first spin of his newie)
Portugal. The Man - Doubt (could be a grower)

I don't think Spoon have ever released anything sub-5 (out of 7).

I liked the Spitting off the Edge of the World single enough. I'll check out the lusciousness.

I place them in the same box as TV on the Radio. Forgotten entirely too soon. They were something else.
