One of my favourite concert experiences was a FF show in 98 - both Grohl and Hawkins played separate drum kits for the first song or two.

I saw the Adelaide show on this tour, good times.

This is one of those legacy bands where I don't need anything more than their first three or four records.

I spent some of my first ever pay cheque on their debut record (the one where Grohl did everything).

I'm with you on this....i havent listened to them much the last few years and went to put together a mix earlier in the week and the vast majority of the songs i wanted to listen to are off those first 3 albums, the debut album being my absolute favorite.

I've seen them 3 times over the years, a small club show in Montreal in 97, opening accoustic for Bob Dylan in 06 and then an arena show a year or two later. The 97 was really epic and was thrilled to find it online a few years ago...

The only song I like on this album.

Saw them open for the RHCP which was nothing of note. Caught them at MSG in'08 and was ripped in to a pit during Breakout that I had no idea would be there.

I saw them open for The Rolling Stones in 1997. People were pissed off because they thought Blues Traveler were supposed to be opening LOL. The reception was majorly indifferent, but this was before every turd they laid was a huge deal. I remember a second drumset was set up for Grohl and he only used it for the first 30 seconds of My Hero or something and then ran back down to play guitar and sing and everyone was like "WTF was the point of that". I felt bad for them at the time but in hindsight it was pretty funny.

Saw them in Albany in 97 and they were amazing.

Opening for RHCP in 2000 and they were really fun

MSG 2011 was the one 3 hour mega show I saw them do and it was fun. Canned but good canned if that makes sense

Global Citizens in 2012. Same canned but compressed it wasn’t as fun and felt like I already saw it.

A very well-presented deep dive on "Everlong". I learned a few things, namely that Louise Post from Veruca Salt tracked the "doo-doo-doo"s over the phone at 2am from the other side of the country. Also, that Bob Dylan is such a big fan of the song that he asked Dave to teach him how to play it.

Anyway, worth a watch.

i'm still baffled about how he basically jizzed all over future islands when they were first on his show.

i was at bonnaroo and saw the foos set. it was fine and fun, and for that festival and weekend they were a good closing band that left most everyone satisfied. i've just never really been into them all that much, yet they're one of those bands that i forget how many songs i recognize. dave brought out his kid for a couple songs, all the kids loved haley williams singing on my hero, and they did that march of the pigs and other songs medley when introducing freese. otherwise, it was just a solid rock show that i probably won't remember much of down the road.
