Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I think True Detective is the answer here. S1 was great, S2 was confusing and lost the plot about halfway through, S3 was a return to form.


Lost is another... S3 Lost was dumb and overly focused on the trending stars, but they brought it back.

I agree this episode is awful. Why doesn't she just turn off her phone? The logic is ridiculous. It's trying way too hard to be funny/quirky and it just doesn't work at all. I swear the quirky string music they use is the same as the one they use in the awful holiday Hallmark movies my wife watches. And they choose this episode to kick off the season? I don't have hope, but I'll try the next episode because Soma recommends it.

Edit: the ending of episode one kinda makes it work, but it feels cheap.

Not a huge fan of Episode 3. Not terrible, but some of the acting is stiff, lacks chemistry.

I think about 1 episode a season is pretty good, and the rest are not great. that's my average.
