Re: Strat Tunes
I listened to the whole album. My favorites were the two mentioned above. But I liked all of them except for Avoidant. Couldn’t get into it.
Kudos on all of it tho. I recorded an album of my own stuff 35 or so years ago and it’s all garbage. Could never find the knack for writing. I hate writing lyrics and coming up with good riffs that hadn’t been heard 1000 times before was quite the challenge. Not a pleasurable experience.

I appreciate it. Ill obviously keep all my fans posted for when the album is done and post the finished product on all your favorite streaming platforms.
I think we still have a ways to go with some unfinished instrumentals out there. Hoping by late summer/early fall. Would be nice to be able to promote something at the wishlist foundation concert in St Paul this labor day.
We were a band in our early 20's and that stuff was basically trash. Just a bunch of kids not knowing how to write songs but having fun.
i think im getting better at it. Most importantly, its really reignited my love for playing and im having a blast.
Lyrics/vocal melody and all that stuff is lost on me. I'm glad i have a friend who at least knows how to do it, whether anyone likes it or not!

Re: Strat Tunes
Im not a singer. Why do i feel the urge to post this shit to RM? I dont know. Whatever.
Im nt a singer but i think Pete Droge is crimimanly underrated as an artist. I damn near love everything he's done. I know he has had some health issues the last few years but every album he put out has had some incredible great singer songwriter rock songs. And he produced Bayleaf (I think).. He rules.
Anyway, this song is sweet and i love it so i got drunk and recorded it for myself.

Love the song. Bass drum too prominent (never thought I'd say that), and the cymbals are still hissing. Still, very fucking cool and punchy. Get it, lad.Strat wrote:

Re: Strat Tunes
Fuck outta here. That was amazing. Beautifully sang. My only criticism would be to hold tail notes a little longer sometimes. You're not rushing through a poetry reading, you're singing your heart out. And boay, you be sangin'.Strat wrote:Im not a singer. Why do i feel the urge to post this shit to RM? I dont know. Re: Strat Tunes
I give this Strat dump a 7.5/10. 8 if you tweak the drums on The Gift.
Lovely work. You should be proud.

Yea I either completely lose the bass drum or its way too loud. Cymbal hissing.....that one escapes me! Glad you like the tune though! THank you.Ello Sailor wrote:Love the song. This is actually me singing these pete droge songs.Ello Sailor wrote:Gorgeous. Is this still your friend on vox? Kills it.Strat wrote:Similar deal. Pete Droge. This song was featured briefly in Almost Famous (Spenno just puked) and i love it. super sweet song
As far as holding notes - I can't. That's when i get super wobbly and lose pitch completely. Perhaps some singing lessons could improv that but its always been a major problem for me. Need to keep it short. Get in get out sort of thing before i ruin it completely.
