Does 9up’s fight against periods make him the tampon of RM?

The only thing I'm certain of is that you guys are going to love this album when it comes out and then complain about how much it sucks a year later.

I like the fact that Andrew Watt is an ambitious young producer. Like BO'B in the 90s. They are different for sure. Not sure if Watt is such an excellent engineer like BO'B was back then. Watt did mostly pop records but his heart is with rock. So far he did Ozzy, Iggy and Eddie. PJ is the first real band he is producing. Sure he had session bands in the studio and he used those creatively (see: the earthlings) but PJ is a different beast.

Rick Rubin has been the LA guy for decades now. Also the guy to 'revive' rockbands. But he is not getting any younger. If Watt succeeds with this PJ record he will have bands lining up for him. Someday Rick Rubin will retire like BO'B did?

Like I said before the choice of mixing engineer will be key here. I don't think Serban Ghenea was the right choice for 'Earthling' and it would really really surprise me if Jeff would allow him to mix the new PJ record. Alan Moulder is way more likely since he mixed the Iggy and Ozzy albums and established a working connection with Watt. The idea of Alan Moulder working on a PJ record is interesting to me, the guy mixed some great records!

Huh. I didn't know there was a connection with Alan Moulder, the guy was involved with a bunch of incredible records in the 90s, though I haven't heard much of his recent work.

If it’s anything that even comes close to resembling Earthlings it will suck.
