Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Appreciate the input on Homeland, all.
I've barely been able to stand season one (the writing is some of the worst I've encountered outside of Network TV and the direction is so clunky; good actors are falling flat on their faces and it isn't their fault). I kept going because of Claire and Mandy -- mostly Mandy; even Claire has awkward turns in this. But if I'm already out on S1, seems like I'm not gonna get much out of S2 and beyond. I'll finish S1 since we only have two episodes left and maybe give S2E1 a shot. But I don't think this show is for me.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Totally. It can be done. But there's so much else out there now. It feels silly to push forward for seven more seasons. But we'll see how S1 plays out.tragabigzanda wrote:Whoo bit wait until the writing in S2. Interesting that others say it gets better in later seasons? Could be. FNL bounced back from a bad season, and Parks & Rec salvaged things in the end too.

Finished Homeland S1.
Need a break before attempting S2 so we started Under the Banner of Heaven.

That animated Harley Quinn show is very good. I'm about halfway through S01 and really enjoying it. Great voice cast.
I'm also watching Mrs. Davis but kind of struggling to finish it even though it's only 8 episodes. I was into it at the beginning, but a few too many twists and turns, and it's hard to still care where it's going.

Yeah, Bane is great. Ron Funches as King Shark is another favourite.Jorge wrote:I haven't kept up with it, but I watched a few episodes and thought Bane was hilariousFarmer John wrote:That animated Harley Quinn show is very good. Every character is perfectly cast. Jacob Tremblay as an adorable little Robin was hilarious.

It's fun to stumble across local channels in a foreign place. CBS is on channel 5?! WhAhT?BurtReynolds wrote:I have some weird need to watch cable when I travel. I don't know why.
