I’m down to the last 20 minutes or so. They’ve just now started talking about SNL. He’s been a wonderful guest, but Carvey’s pulling out the classics on this one.

They said the did this a while back and it was shortly after he went to space and released his last album, both of which were in ‘21 so this may have been one of the earliest ones they did.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I’m about 20 minutes from the end. It’s been enjoyable with a few genuine LOL moments.

I did learn Carvey is actually older than Baldwin. Carvey is pushing 70! I had long thought he was at most early 60s. I guess it makes sense as he’s talked about doing standup when Robin Williams die back in the 70s. I just never really put it together.

Kinda weak they didn’t ask him about his latest turmoil. Not surprised I guess.

I’ve not finished it yet, but he briefly mentions it. They don’t talk about it or anything but he does mention it.

Kenny Loggins on this week’s Fly. An odd choice. They briefly mention he was on SNL twice. Fairly interesting. Looks like they recorded it last fall as it was a few days before the Loggins-Messina Hollywood Bowl show. They really sit on some of these a while apparently.

I know. I’m waiting until we finish Ted Lasso tonight before I listen tho.
Same! I've been getting caught up on episodes though, lots of enjoyable ones in there. Dennis Miller is the only one I couldn't get into, just can't stand that guy.
To each their own. I’ve loved him since he was on Weekend Update.

If you haven’t listened yet, the Julie Bowen episode is still probably my favorite one.
weird, i haven't listened to that one yet. Why is she your favorite? She's never been on the show I don't think? Though I think she and Spade dated at one point.
She and Spade get into that. Some great stories. It’s a VERY funny episode and she comes across as someone that would be incredibly easy to talk to and hang with. She seems genuine. Or as genuine as Hollywood people can be. There’s not nearly as much of the same ol’ Dana stories (or Spade for that matter) and it’s not bogged down with the same shit that has become tiresome at this point. Dana doesn’t talk over her as much and Spade keeps it toned down as well. But it really is one of the funniest episodes they’ve done. Maybe THE funniest.

She asked them at one point who their favorite guest has been and they both answer Ed O’Neill. And they said that was the first one. So they must drop these in a very different order from which they are produced. I went back to see if he was the first episode and he wasn’t and I realized I hadn’t listened to it yet. So I did it right after hers and it was a great episode as well. Learned a lot about him and both hosts hadn’t gotten to their “talk over everyone, tell the same stories” shtick that has become so annoying yet.

I started the Sudeikis episode on the way to work. I’m about halfway thru it. Apparently, someone told them not to ask about Ted Lasso so they haven’t gotten into that at all. It’s practically been all SNL stuff up to this point. (I still haven’t seen this week’s Ted Lasso episode yet). I’m not sure I knew George Wendt is his uncle. His mom’s brother. He’s officially the King of KC now. Sorry, Paul Rudd. And Joe.

I’ve just listened to her episode on Conan’s podcast. Not quite as funny, but damned if she isn’t one of the best guests for these things. She just like one of the gang no matter the setting. These may have made me love her even more.

New Fly is with Alan Zweibel. Very good. Virtually zero Carvey/Spade bits and very informative about the early days. Interesting guy. Always great when they can get one of the old timers on.

It did make me wonder how many of these they have in the can already. There was a reference that it was 2022 when they recorded it and they mention James Caan as if he was still alive. Caan died July 2022 so they did this well over a year ago.

This week’s Fly is a 5-hour long tribute to Phil Hartman.

Five hours of Hartman tribute and News Radio is only mentioned once in passing. Unacceptable!

I haven’t made my way thru all of it yet. I just finished Cheri Oteri (who knew we were all saying her name wrong?) in Part 2 and she mentioned how he was great in it, but yeah, hardly anything has been mentioned about it. Maybe because of Andy Dick’s presence?
