Happy for Checo. I didn't like that Horner publicly roasted him for exceeding track limits in the lead-up to the race. Half the grid had the same trouble! And he was battling a bad cold!

would love to see max race in the alpha tauri the back half of the season here now that the W is all locked down and they just retire (both) RB19 for the rest of '23

Is it coincidence that you guys often cheer for the same drivers?

I like everyone, so that's probably a difficult thing to pin down.

I'm Ferrari/McLaren and there hasn't been much to cheer about. Tribalism having a bad year with me.

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
As I first got into F1, I quickly became a Senna fan. When he sadly went too soon, Schumacher was the hot young driver, and was easy to cheer for. After he went to Ferrari. that was the first time I cheered for them, and I stuck with him for years. Haven't really had one like him since, but hoped for Alonso in the Ferrari years, and always thought he was s funny guy to follow.
While never cheering for Williams when I was growing up, I thought their journey as a bottom team in recent years has been really interesting. Been hoping for them to do well lately.

In general though, I just enjoy the races, and think it's fun if the underdogs do well. Afrer cheering for some big time winners early on like Senna and Schumacher, I now think anyone winning too much is boring, like Hamilton in previous years, and Verstappen now (although he is still young, and hasn't won that much yet).

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
Senna got me in to my F1 fandom. After him I just realized how much I enjoyed watching it and the "cool" culture around it. Hamilton was a boring champ, so is Verstappen. I rooted for Haas drivers to do well because I was interested in seeing a U.S. group with a good racing history try to break in to it. I root for Checo because he is a great driver that is not only overshadowed by his teammate, but his team in general. Max is clearly the guy and Perez is there to support him. Would love to see what he could do on another team with good cars.

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
I kinda love that Max forced RB to let him get on softs for a best lap attempt. The team radio was great. He also put 3 seconds on Charles in a single lap lmao. Dude knows what he's doing.

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
Albon seems to be flying right now. Pretty cool.
My celebrations re: McLaren upgrades seemed to be premature. They're lacking top end speed but are notably faster than others in "slower" sections. Must be high downforce. Are they banking on rain?

Re: Anyone else here watch F1 racing?
Slightly more regular q2, but the McLarens and Albon follow Verstappen in the top four.
