I love this album more and more, the weather is hot here at the moment and I'm blasting it while cleaning out my bird's cage, it's wonderful; the subtle differences and nuances in those latter tracks begins to emerge

I'd say it's kind of Enya-esque in places

this is awesome and it definitely got some waterworks bubbling up.

a few weeks ago i was looking on ticketbastard to see if there were better seats for the upcoming show here than the ones i had bought, which were along the sides of the balcony and likely a slightly obstructed view given how many people will probably be on stage. sure enough, there were better tix- a pair in the front row. they were standard (non-reseller) tix but platinum priced at $275/ea before fees (~$320/ea after). reseller tix on and around the floor were averaging about the same price (and much higher the closer to the stage you got), and the seats directly behind the ones i already had were being resold for about $125 above the average price, too. so i said fuck it and bought the front row seats and put up my initial seats for about $120 more than what i paid total, but still below the average of other available reseller tix, and they sold within a couple weeks. after all was said and done, i essentially got the front row seats for $266/ea after fees, "saving" about $60/ea from the platinum price.

maybe i could have done even better, and i definitely feel dirty and gross for 1) buying platinum priced seats and 2) reselling my initial tix for above cost. but if i didn't buy them then, i don't think i would have had this opportunity again. god damn i am looking forward to seeing this show from the front fucking row, especially after hearing this record. i've been close for a jonsi solo show, but never sigur ros, so this will be special. expensive, but special. can't wait.

Apparently at least some of the songs on the latest are also in made up language Hopelandic
It's also hard to decipher the words — whether they are in Icelandic, or what the group has sometimes called Hopelandic, a series of made-up nonsense syllables. But like opera, where you might not understand the native tongue, it's the music — the band's unerring way of writing melodies that tug at the heart — and Jónsi's expressive performance that conveys all that's needed. Another song in Hopelandic is "Klettur" (Cliff), which sports a lumbering, concussive beat that suddenly halts to allow the heavens to open in celestial light via huge keyboard pedal points and soaring strings.
