Great line from Andy Greenwald on a recent episode of The Watch podcast about The Bear’s use of music:

“Why is this sauce so good in the restaurant? It’s cause they fuckin’ put butter on it.”

I was a little surprised at the fact that both Chris and Andy thought JLC was a little “much” in episode 6. No shade, but this coupled with the fact that in an earlier episode (it may have been them reviewing Season 1, I listened to that recently), the two of them didn’t know the difference between AA and Al-Anon, it makes me think that they might not have a lot of experience with that sort of addiction. It rang as very true to life for me, almost too close. I’m glad they came around on her for the finale.

I thought "her" performance was a little over the top too. But I guess it matches Bernthal's energy who also just goes all out.

How one receives her performance in episode six may directly correlate with his much one recognizes one's own life mirrored in the episode.

I won't say the performance isn't over the top but I will say that it was uncomfortably real.

E7 had me holding back tears for the entire episode. I relate to much to Richie's story there.

E8 pushed me over the edge when Richie got all pissed about the napkin.

Along with Friday Night Lights, this is probably the only other show that makes me want to be a better person.

I outright wept during epsidoes 7, 8, & 9. I got emotional and had a barrage of feelings, but I did not cry during the finale. So maybe he'll be okay?
