I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The cloying, formulaic approach to childlike joy and innocence is itself a deeper form of cynicism. I am criticizing it precisely because of its cynicism.tree_ wrote:I think it appears to radiate a childlike joy and innocence sorely needed in this cynical world of ours

You don't have to be original to light up a child. You need enthusiasm, joy, innocence, charm Chalamet appears to emit in oodles.BurtReynolds wrote:The cloying, formulaic approach to childlike joy and innocence is itself a deeper form of cynicism. I just know what works from spending so much time with my two young children. This movie would make them giddy.BurtReynolds wrote:Your sarcasm is cynical.
