Both of these were excellent. I think Bullitt was marginally better, but that might just be because I'm in love with Steve McQueen.

It finished. I'll be watching it tomorrow because tonight I'm watching The Great Escape with my parents. It's Steve McJuly (I really wish it was June)

Suspicion
Never seen this before. Joan Fontaine won the only acting Oscar in Hitchcock's filmography for her role here, although she should have won for Rebecca as well.
Great first half an hour to this. Had to pause it there.

Last night was movie night with my parents and we watched The Great Escape.
Really good stuff. Great cast. Didn't feel like 3 hours.

What are his best movies? I was looking him up after watching Eddie Coyle and the impression I got is that he tended to give great performances in not great movies.

Re: What movies are you watching?
The Night of the Hunter is the essential Robert Mitchum movie. He's also in a bunch of noirs of varying quality. Crossfire is a special favorite of mine because he plays a good guy and it also stars another of my all-time favorites, Robert Ryan. It's about post-war anti-Semitism, so it's unique in that way. The most famous noir would probably be Out of the Past, also great. He was also the maniac in the original CapeFear, De Niro's role in the re-make. And his final role, in Jamusch's Dead Man holds a special place in my heart just for how wild it is.
He's just one of those guys I find infinitely compelling

He was great. His performance in The Night Of The Hunter is one of the best of all time.
