BMI is for skinny fats to feel good about themselves. If you can do 10-12 pullups in one go you are probably at the right weight. Get hard.

Not the weird cheat cross fit pullups the real ones. Get hard.

I thought the criticism was more about it being too strict and not inclusive.bada wrote:BMI is for skinny fats to feel good about themselves. If you can do 10-12 pullups in one go you are probably at the right weight. Get hard.
I workout cardio four to six times a week, but I have no idea if I can do that many pullups. I also lift weights though, only about 100 - 120 pounds with chest and 30s for biceps, etc.

The Holy Grail is body fat percentage, but I think you need a doctor or trainer to determine that.

Although based on lighting and angles pics can be a very deceiving tool for weight loss.
Even when I was in the high 140s way back in the day, I had a little something there ya know and it would show up in pics. At least to me.

Re: The Weight Loss Thread
I was mostly goofing but I subscribe to the progressive overload workout deal. Three days a week. Cardio is fine but lean mass is better. I play basketball almost everyday and its good for the heart but not so much weight loss. It tends to make you hungry. Then you think I worked out hard today I deserve to eat more. You don't. A nice walk is best. Walk like a pregnant woman. At that speed. You get a lot of the benefits of running without the hunger. Lift weights. Compound movements. Hold onto as much muscle as you can as you age if you don't want to be a mess.Coach wrote:I thought the criticism was more about it being too strict and not inclusive.bada wrote:BMI is for skinny fats to feel good about themselves. Once I started doing just a little weight lifting combined with the elliptical things took off good for me.bada wrote:I was mostly goofing but I subscribe to the progressive overload workout deal. I'm actually amazed at how much more muscle I've built just from doing the elliptical. It really hits a ton of your body, head to toe.

Re: The Weight Loss Thread
According to the scale, I'm right on edge of being overweight.

That's why I've read that body fat percentage is a more accurate measure.

I'm usually in the 23 to 24 range so I am butting up against it. But it's a small scale so you have to take in the .00 part of the number. Not just the whole number.

24.02 today.
I feel best when I'm more like 23ish.
https://www.health.harvard.edu/diet-and ... calculator
was 170.8 to start the day
did almost 15 miles of bike riding and some chinups
gotta stay shapely
170 appears to be my floor, which I'm fine with
now just gotta focus on the swedish penis enlargement

i like this metric and feel like proportionally it's when i felt comfortable that i was back in shapebada wrote:BMI is for skinny fats to feel good about themselves. If you can do 10-12 pullups in one go you are probably at the right weight. Get hard.
i did two sets of 10 this morning
on the weekend did 4 sets of 10
need to start to try pushing past 10 though
10 was sort of the 'i made it' threshold
but i should try to challenge to get to 15 in one set

If your floor is 170 and your BMI is in the 22s, I think that's a solid place to be for some fun in the sun with a couple bikini clad ladies and a Coors Light beer.96583UP wrote:ty ser ... 22.56Coach wrote:Just re-sharing the BMI calculator from Harvard.
