I'll be a little pissed if they don't make it a single. It's my song of the year so far, and a banger video would be icing on the cake.

Also agree that it would've been an amazing closer.

"The Narcissist" still kind of reminds me of "Dancing in the Dark." The cadence and vocal melody, somewhat

Happy for you but I rejoice in having that song not remind me of Springsteen at all.

The Magic Whip feels like a bunch of quirky, cohesive songs arising out of band jams (which is pretty informed by the circumstances in which it was made, of course).
Agreed
every band member is obviously present here and doing cool stuff, even if it's often subtle

I'm looking over my old Blur stuff and "I'm Just a Killer for Your Love" is A+ - another love letter to Marc Bolan

Trag will reiterate his opinion 3-5 times in multiple threads before letting it fade into the background of his mind. Standard fart-sniffing main character stuff. Just gotta wait it out.

I'm on my third play-through of this album and it might honestly be my favorite Blur album

I've always considered 13 and self-titled to be their best. Never really caught the Parklife bug, though it has some brilliant highs.

I think their most overlooked album is The Great Escape. The singles alone are astonishing.

"Country Sad Ballad Man" is perfection

I thought I'd find it difficult to listen to the S/T right through because "Song 2" has been so horrendously overplayed, but actually it sits right back into context really nicely

Yeah, I love the front half of that album. The tail end isn't bad, but side A really do be poppin' off.

But all of this is irrelevant. "Bugman" is their most underrated tune. It's a real skull-crusher.
