He was really angry with the hall of fame not inducting him and talked shit about the band for a while. He retracted then and said he would love to play music with any member of the band again.

I think the only one who said hi was Mike.
I think it’s understandable to mad that they chose Krusen over him.
"The fatal flaw of all revolutionaries is that they know how to tear things down but don't have a f**king clue about how to build anything."
Wasn't it also that the band extended a weird (public, not private) invitation to him to attend which essentially amounted to 'if you can get here off your own steam, you won't get kicked out of the event, but we won't be doing anything more'?
I can understand his frustration, he was arguably a bigger part of the band's history than Krusen was and it pretty obviously would've meant a lot to the guy to have felt like they wanted him there.
It's hard to believe influential bands get no influence over the inductees given the cast of thousands inducted for the Cure, including Reeves Gabrels who hasn't even played on a single (released) studio album.
yeah, they release that statement for all the drummer. Irons was there. Of course the band doesnt care about Dave A, its pretty obvious. But i dont think they said anything to the hall of fame about Dave not being there.
Chad Channing wasnt inducted also with Nirvana, but Cliff Martinez was with RHCP. They inductions are super weird anyway.
I think Dave handled the whole thing in a very poor way, and that kinda burnt bridges again with the band.

Ultimately, I agree with you and it's not the first time he's been a jerk in public about it. I'm sympathetic in that when non-fans think Pearl Jam, they think of the Dave A era. But he's clearly been unable to realize that people change and even with long term relationships (or band-mates) you may find yourself ending up on the outside and you've gotta behave like a grown-up and move on.

the whole hall of fame process and ceremony is embarassing to everyone involved
what is the difference between the MTV video awards and grammies vs. this hall of fame?
nothing
except rather than calling it out as meaningless bands seem to accept and embrace it?
and even when it excludes members of the band based on arbitrary rules?
they should all go fuck off: the hall, the bands that accept and show up and enable excluding people who have contributed significantly to their success, and the fans for not calling the bands out for being shallow for participating
Dave A's complaints were valid and for those that purport to like these bands due to moral highground themes in the music the notion that it is somehow OK to exclude someone like Dave from this ceremony, or Boom who is an active member of the band, should be appalling and obvious and shameful given the spirit of what the music is supposed to be about
in the end it is obvious
THIS ALL COMES DOWN TO MONEY
fuck all these idiots they want to be considered 'Hall of Fame' to boost the value of their Intellectual Property so once they sell the rights for their shit to streaming companies they can get more for it
FUCK THEM ALL IN THEIR SHITTY ASSES

The final test of whether or not you belong in a rock and roll hall of fame is: do you show up to the rock and roll hall of fame? If yes, you fail. You are not rock and roll. You are middle management.

Returning to beat a dead horse, still weird how stubborn the band are about not extending the olive branch to the guy over the years.
He contributed massively to their sound during the period he was a member.
It's still weird how stubborn the fanbase is about wanting this guy back in the PJ fold. They clearly don't like him as a person -- perfectly understandable that they wouldn't want the headache, and he strikes me as a massive headache.
