I think Tenet's problem wasn't that it was a bad movie, but that it was a little hard to follow. That may have turned some people off from rewatching it in the theater a second time, or telling others not to bother because it is too hard to follow.

I've seen it three time and am still not quite sure I fully understand it all. And I think about time trave a lot!

Hard to follow was the biggest problem. But it also lacked an emotional core. Even if the mechanics made easy sense, I’d still struggle to care about anyone in the movie.
