It's true.
Far from it.
I will kill something you love for every stinker you can name.
Breakerfall, Gods Dice, Evacuation (nice idea ) , soon forget. While not stinkers I don't care for Thin Air and light years is average at best. My soul is already alone go for it.

Outside of NAIS the highs on Binaural can't touch the highs off the first 5 albums.
I can get behind there being no stinkers on the album though...although i've always been very indifferent to God's Dice...but its by no means as bad as Supersonic or Big Wave.
NAIS and Sleight of Hand. After all, Sleight of Hand is the best song they have ever written.

If I was to listen to my first Springsteen album in full since Human Touch, should it be Nebraska?
Human Touch?? Is that the only one you've ever heard in full? I'd go with Born To Run followed by Darkness on the Edge of Town before Nebraska.
Born in the USA is still pretty excellent. So is tunnel of love
Somehow this has gotten misquoted to the point that I'm the one asking about Springsteen records. I inadvertently kicked off the whole Springsteen discussion by putting Nebraska in my all-time top five.
See thejambi? This is the guy that likes Backspacer more than Yield, and HE is the one on your side. If you need any other evidence of his questionable decision making, please refer to my signature.

Oh thejambi, after all the OLP bonding.
I owe it to you to be honest. We will always have Paper Moon.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

That's where we differ I suppose. There are a ton of songs I dislike in that stretch. Vitalogy, Yield and No Code are my only untouchables. Vitalogy doesn't have a song I really don't like. Yield has a few low moments but no stinkers. No Code does have a handful I hate ( off he goes, smile, mankind, habit) but the highs will probably never be touched again by Pearl Jam. I find RA to be generally mediocre with a few above average tracks. Ten is pretty flawless but overly played . Vs I just don't connect with much. Binaural is pretty great but the top 3, thin air and soon forget do absolutely nothing for me.
So far Lightning Bolt feels better than BS, ST, RA and maybe Vs. I don't think it will rise more than that though. It may threaten yield but I love that album on its guitar work and LB doesn't come close to it in that aspect.
I'm in the 'binaural has no stinkers' camp. I also think "sleight of hand" through headphones at least rivals anything in their catalog. So you don't think LB's guitar touches Yeild's? From what I read about the solos, I'm guessing LB is a lot better in the solo department.

Stip likes BS better than Yield too.

I completely misread your original post. Never mind my post. Carry on.

Honestly, you put a gun to my head --- or to my wife's head --- and made me rank LB among the rest, it would be #7. And that's after only 5 front to back listens. I think it's going to keep getting better.

I don't just look at solos when considering guitar work.

Sans BOB it probably would have been amazing.

Riot act had a ton of songs that barely avoided my bottom 10. Some of the weakest songwriting in their catalog
I really enjoy Riot Act and it's B-Sides except for Bushleaguer and I think it works great as an album but that said if I was making a best of none of the songs would make it except maybe I Am Mine.

When they finally get around to releasing the box set for this one, which producer do they get to clean up the BOB mixes?
