Best game of all time.
I wouldn’t disagree with that.

Damn, this game is good. It's been on my mind a lot this morning. Looking forward to putting a few more hours in tonight.
So for anyone who’s interested, the lead designer of Disco Elysium, Robert Kurvitz, wrote a novel about a decade ago called Sacred and Terrible Air, which takes place in the same universe as the game (I’ve heard it described as a prequel, but I don’t know how accurate that is). It was written in Estonian and no official English translation exists, but I just found out that about 2 months ago, an extensive fan translation was completed. Here’s a link to the English version: https://gofile.io/d/XR6BKy

Thanks for this. I've just downloaded it to my Kindle.

I had a lot of fun with this game despite all the problems.

This game looks awesome. I probably won't play it, but it looks like the series is back on track after the boy band simulator of XV.

I read this one lacks RPG elements.

I read this one lacks RPG elements.
Which makes it even more appealing to me.

Square: We want to be less "western."

Also Square: Let's remove the JRP from the most famous JRPG.

I don't get it.

It’s not compelling me to play it as I really haven’t felt challenged yet. Then again I haven’t felt super compelled to play a final fantasy since 12

Apparently, there's a "new game plus" feature (everyone wants to be Dark Souls, innit), and all of the difficulty is gated behind having beaten the game once already. All of the footage I've seen of people playing XVI shows them absolutely obliterating everything with ease.

That part is a little disappointing.

Cyberpunk hasn’t really grabbed me yet, I’m only playing in like 20-minute bursts. Hoping the world starts to open up soon.

In other news, I started a run of New Vegas today and played for 2 hours lol

i recall a simple web game we all used to play on here (actually two of them)

there was one where you are an archer and you have to input the angle to hit a pumpkin or haystack at a distance

the other i think was similar only you were a knight in castle and were launching things

anyone remember/have the link?

Hopped back into some cyberpunk with Shadowrun: Dragonfall.

Cloud saves on Steam meant that I could pick up where I left off 6 (!?) years ago after getting pummelled during a particular late-game mission and being too proud to enlist the help of a walkthrough. I should have kept at it -- it's great.

Once this one's done, I still have Shadowrun: Hong Kong to play. Psyched about that. Harebrianed Schemes don't seem to miss. They were responsible for 2018's BattleTech, which is a masterful strategy game set in the MechWarrior universe. Highly recommended if you're into turn-based/tactics type shit.

I still need to beat Final Fantasy IV. I have a save file in the final dungeon, but it's been 22 years and my PS1 is in storage. I'll do it eventually.

Will you start from scratch or your last save?

Last save definitely. I remember the story. I just couldn't beat Zeromus is all.
