That might be worse. Lakes can be nasty.

Good work, Burt.

It's all subjective. If it works for you, that's great! I'm super happy about that. I love that for you. It didn't for me. *shrugs*

Sort of like when trag or WCT chime in on some album production/mixing/etc. They studied and trained in those skills and so they hear it all more specifically and in different ways. They hear stuff I'm not hearing. And that effects how they react to it. I might enjoy the song or album a lot but they hear something that they can't get past. Having studied and trained in acting for 20 years, sometimes I think I get hung up on things that maybe others don't. I have specific things I'm looking at and reacting to. None of that is to say I'm right or wrong. I'm just reacting and explaining why.
im sorry i reacted to a post from you.

At least sixteen, but I was making an Oppenheimer reference.

Had anyone considered that Joey just might be acting this whole time?

But!

Too much music. It's nearly comical. It helps with the feeling of a relentless pace and I suppose they thought it would set off the big moments of sound design (that were very moving) but it's just too much music. This is a problem with a lot of movies these days, but this is the worst example I've seen.

I think the RDJ element of the story is essential to the full picture of the movie, and we need it to get the full blow of the wonderful ending, but it takes up too large a chunk of the movie and I hate that RDJ all of a sudden basically becomes the main character and Oppenheimer is almost gone. There's gotta be a better way to get to that story than what they did.

Either less Emily Blunt or more Emily Blunt. The amount of Emily Blunt we got was insufficient to support the weight of the story that ended up on her shoulders. And you'll never find me advocating for less Emily Blunt. But maybe just in this one special case.

But overall it was pretty tremendous for two hours. I saw it last night and my ears still really fucking hurt, though
Agreed on the RDJ element, and that the first two hours really shined.
And they say that a hero could save us

Make sure you poop and pee before the movie. It's a long one.

I will, but I know that I will have to build in a piss break. Poop should be fine as a I am pretty consistent.

I have the RunPee app which tells you the best times for pee breaks at movies.
