Man, it just seems obvious to me that when true AGI reaches the point it can improve upon itself at an exponential rate either we all die instantaneously or we all go along for the ride and blast off infinitely through space. I don't see how anyone could control it if it doesn't want to be controlled, and why would it?

1.) Replacing inefficient power lines and building a mesh of thorium mini-reactors gets us there much faster than 50 years, assuming this is real and scalable.
