Re: NBA Thread
My understanding is that Luka signed a 5 year supermax rookie extension in Aug 21, so is eligible for the full supermax in Aug 2026. Apparently the anticipated/expected value of the deal then is $404m. That's an increase of $100m (33%) on Brown's supermax within 3 years. Shit's getting real fast.

Good riddance, I never cared for him a coach or as an announcer. Not sure I ever learned much from him besides catchphrases and 90s Knicks stories.

This is probably true. They were entertaining together and JVG had actual in-game basketball insight in between saying insane things.bada wrote:Not sure he works without Van Gundy.

Our guy Mike Gorman is entering his 43rd and final year doing TV play-by-play for the Celtics in 23-24.
He's solid as they come and never afraid to criticize the team (or give praise).

It's tough once you start losing the old guyz, cuz they had wiggle room to be "fair" vs. the new guyz are all controlled by the team....bada wrote:It's gonna be weird.Coach wrote:Our guy Mike Gorman is entering his 43rd and final year doing TV play-by-play for the Celtics in 23-24.

Yeah, I love the Heat's guy, Eric Reid. He's been the voice of the team since inauguration. 35 years so far, definitely will be strange one day to hear anybody else calling local Heat games.

i was watching the 1990 all star game and a few things jumped out at me
i didnt realize bernard king was still around for the bullets, alvin robertson for the bucks and brad daughtery for the cavs. i forgot that terry porter looked like he was 71 when he was playing
also costas and fratello commenting on how timmy hardaway was the lowest paid at 500K and some of these players were making a million dollars

Yeah Scal started out fair but he's morphed more and more into a homer.Coach wrote:It's tough once you start losing the old guyz, cuz they had wiggle room to be "fair" vs. the new guyz are all controlled by the team....bada wrote:It's gonna be weird.Coach wrote:Our guy Mike Gorman is entering his 43rd and final year doing TV play-by-play for the Celtics in 23-24.

Re: NBA Thread
very true, I was more talking about the play by play guys. I mean I know Scal does play by play once in awhile, but the regular play by play guys have basically become stooges for the teambada wrote:Yeah Scal started out fair but he's morphed more and more into a homer.Coach wrote:It's tough once you start losing the old guyz, cuz they had wiggle room to be "fair" vs. the new guyz are all controlled by the team....bada wrote:It's gonna be weird.Coach wrote:Our guy Mike Gorman is entering his 43rd and final year doing TV play-by-play for the Celtics in 23-24.

What's the record for number of teams a player has quit on in a three year span? He certainly owns it, right?
