I would have saved Sleight of Hand for the second third, personally.

It's song 4, the start of the downfall (second act). The realization that his life of wealth really has no meaning sends him into a spiral of drugs and self-mutilation. The third act is his redemption.

I see where you were going with it, but track four is a transition track, and to get from Summertime to Sleight of Hand requires a bit more narrative. "Once in a Lifetime" might work better in that spot?

True, but these have only been 10 tracks. I saw Sleight of Hand as the transition. No. 5 would seem to be a little late... that would have required all the coking and whoring up and the redemption in just 5 songs.

On this, we will perhaps eternally disagree. I've always felt like the character in "Sleight of Hand" was at the end of something, not transitioning. Carry on, old friend.

No worries man. For a real deal concept it's a bit trickier. With the "theme" approach, it's just less brain power. Something I can come here to check and easily add to, i.e. "songs about girls". All of us can get to 10 songs easily, and move along.

I like the idea of a genuine concept, but it's too much brain power for me when I'm at work looking for a quick fix.

The one song I thought of was "Soon Forget" but PJ was already taken. The other songs I thought of were about "Arthur" from the Kinks album, but Arthur wasn't rich.

This really could be anything...Songs about water, songs about night, really whatever. As long as the song fits the theme and the artist is not repeated, all is good. You can make some other rules too, like say a concept about "birds" and "bird" must be in the song title.

I'll get this started, then the next person list my song, then theirs, and so forth.
