Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Finally watched Asteroid City and I loved it real hard. Cartoonishly beautiful and full of immediately endearing characters. Goes unexpected directions and is brimming with style. Looking at the heart and soul needed to make a movie, a play, or anything. Found it super moving. ScarJo's best performance in a decade

Best 2017 movie watched this summer (out of 30) is the Finnish movie The Unknown Soldier (Tuntematon sotilas). While it was a rewatch, it really hit me this time, both in how well made it was, more or less true to history, and really Finnish in feeling.

Now rewatching American Assassin.

Should be room for a few more movies today. Need a calm day before going back to work tomorrow.
