I started listening to the 2nd Wembley Show, 5.30.00, one of the Ape/Man shows...on spotify today, and it started to glitch towards the end of Immortality. It stopped after several seconds of skipping sounds and went right to the next track.

I have this show on CD, but I've not listened to it in decades. Did you listen to this one on streaming, and if so, did you hear the same? I'm guessing it has something to do with the upload.

Not sure it was Immortality, but I definitely heard skipping on one of the songs. Listened on Spotify.

1995-06-16 Casper AUD MIX Blood

Listening to the summer '95 DMB tour I decided to throw on a PJ show from around the same time, forgot how hectic '95 was with the Ticketmaster stuff and Vedder getting sick.

Not a bad sounding show, this is actually the more recent DGR effort as I only had the original from the Audio Archives (same source) and the Sonic Studios mic source that is fairly distant.

The mixes on LO2L were done in a studio with the intention of it being a commercial live album, while the mixes of the 2000 tour boots were done quickly on the road by Brett without the benefit of time, or the resources of a professional studio.

Still, I think they sound great, particularly the Euro shows (unpopular opinion, I know).

The 2003 boots sounded pretty awful in comparison (too bloated, compressed, loud, etc.)
Agreed on the Euro shows from 2000. Always loved that absence of compression. It gives the feeling of actually being there. Bliss! :luv:

I think the Euro 2000 boots are too under-mastered. It's not just compression but super low volume levels and also a total lack of bass because everything needed to be tightened up. After that, they went way over the top with over-mastering them. LO2L was somewhere close to what I think is ideal.

But the benefit of having something like the Euro 2000 boots at your disposal is that you can work with it as source material to achieve something else. After those boots, you're stuck with what you are given. You can't reverse the damage. So I tried to take advantage of that with the "Alone And Far Away" compilation and I'm more than happy with how that turned out. It's the best-sounding live Pearl Jam IMO.

Another thing that people probably don't know is that Brett was experimenting with the mix itself on those Euro 2000 boots. The audience noise was mixed in and treated differently than it was afterwards, with some kind of gate that was malfunctioning and overmodulating, causing weird distortion when the crowd would cheer. He would leave it out during the music, so that you are only hearing what was happening right on stage. This gives anyone fiddling with them the ability to treat the side channels differently than the center - so you can change the levels of the guitars and boost the volume of Mike's solos and so forth. After that, it's basically impossible, because there is so much crowd ambience mixed into the side channels. You would need one of those bullshit magical Beatles devices to make any difference.

the worst part of the 2000 boots is the lack of bass to me.

The US dates are better, but only marginally.

The bass is actually there in the mix on the Euro boots - you just can't hear it because of the non-mastering. Compare the raw boots to Alone And Far Away.

Who's got the best copy of Eddie with My Morning Jacket doing It Makes No Difference?

Did this make it to a DVD or something or was there just an AUD recording?

Immagine en Cornice has Eddie Vedder and MMJ playing A Quick One. I didn’t know they played It Makes No Difference together, but MMJ does a great cover of that song.

Seems to be a lot of praise for the current mini tour. I'd like to say that the 2016 tour was superior. I don't think it gets enough love around here. I get they might not be able to play 3 hour shows anymore ( I guess Springsteen takes better care of himself and can) so I am glad they are doing the best they can now. In 2016 they were lively, played hits, played a lot of rarities and according to the few boots I listened to played 3 hours and didn't really run out of steam.
