I'd like to continue my Christian Bale-a-thon tonight, but I'm not sure what to watch next.

I don't like Nolan's Batman movies, so those are out, I'm not really interested in the Machinist or Adam McKay movies and the rest of Bale's movies get spotty reviews.

I'm looking at The Pale Blue Eye, Amsterdam, Into the Furnace or Rescue Dawn.

I could maybe be talked into The Big Short on the strength of the cast, but I tried Vice and I just couldn't do it.

Bale had a great (if under celebrated run in 2002-2004:

Laurel Canyon > Reign of Fire > Equilibrium > The Machinist

XXX

Never seen it before. Bit of an awkward action movie so far. A few good scenes.

The Machinist is good, Tom. But don’t show your nephew
And they say that a hero could save us

It’s from 2002. There’s a 2017 sequel as well.
