It was. Just went up against stranger things of one of them.
Numbers were down in two previous but I blame the boba series on that.
Ironically it’s two great episode were all about Mando and grogu

I don't think we'll need to know Ahsoka et al as much as fans are worried about. This thing as real original trilogy and old school "that's my star wars" vibes.

I won't be surprised either way. But I think either path is possible with this. We'll see. Could also be an Andor sort of thing insofar as it needs word of mouth to get traction. Possible the weekly numbers will be lower at first.

The realist in me says everyone at Lucas film and the other sw series in production watched Andor and went ‘fuck. How are we gonna compete with that?’

But I’m not into ranking of that discourse. Ahsoka will be great. I don’t care if it gets eyes on it, but I do only insofar as it might get a second season. That’s the obi wan trap, what do you do with her if they find Ezra and happy families.
What do you do then given the timeline?

People talk about Star Wars needing a break. There’s really not much coming after Ahsoka and skeleton crew and the new film if that even happens.

I do think they need to knuckle down on making the movies again and really going for it.

Totally. I'm not sure my attitude were I a creative at Lucasfilm would be "how do we top Andor" because I think Andor is it's own thing. Not all Star Wars should be Andor. To me, the question is more, "how do we continue to expand the language/aesthetic/tone of Star Wars going forward?" There's a lot of room to grow and try new things. We'll see if anyone over there wants to take that risk.

As far a Ahsoka goes, I think Dave has a firm idea that goes beyond these eight episodes. As much as I loved the ST, I'm well aware that a ton of people didn't. I wonder if Dave is someone who felt they were lacking. I could see him making his own trilogy (or series of movies; beginning with Ahsoka and then obviously expanding into his upcoming film, which is 100% gonna happen, I think) as a way to "coarse correct" the franchise. Some fans want a multi-verse so the events of the ST can be erased. I don't think Dave wants to do that. But I could see him wanting to tell his stories in the window between the OT and ST as a way of righting the ship, so to speak, and getting back some of the fanbase.

Hopefully, they aren't thinking too much about fans and reception. Hopefully, they're just being creative and telling stories they want to tell. But that might be a tall order given the current media/corporate landscape. But the best thing is to tune out all the extraneous internet noise and do what they want. I trust Dave and I know he loves this character. I think this will be great.

There’s only a mention of three by name. You can’t base your whole opinion on whether or not there were any Jedi broads on just those last three that were left.

Whilst I'm excited for Ahsoka Im certainly not excited as I was for Obi-Wan, Bobba Fett and or Mando S3.

I guess its due to Im not the biggest rebels fan going around. Its a fun show like Bad Batch and has some great episodes (Twilight of the Apprentice Part 1 & 2 and World between Worlds) and characters. And Even though I hated the Purrgil(space whales) ending to the show.

Ive always maintained live action Purgill would look amazing.

lll never forget seeing Ahsoka first time in live action mando S2, that episode was phenomenal. Then she got to speak to Luke in BOBF "im a friend of the family" and "so much like your father" and I was so happy for days.

Either way 2 weeks to go.

So my recommendation when watching Andor is the series is set up that most stories are told in 3 episode arcs.

So Episode 1 and 2 set up and conclude with episode 3. And so on........

So yeah if its not clicking after episode 2 dont fear.

Yeah the first three e-bike feeling like pure Star Wars are kind of almost disconnected from what follows it feels like.

But hang in there Wease. You’re gonna love it.

But there were zero female Jedi in the OT...wait, were there any in the prequels?

There were literally almost no Jedi male or female in the original trilogy, coach.
An old man (died) a frog creature (died)

That’s it.

Luke gets to be a Jedi for about 20 minutes before the end.

Take the culture war nonsense elsewhere please.
