Re: Song of the Moment: Getaway
kinda feel this is a good song thats been hurt because of the horrible production on this album and some bad lyrics from Ed.
Also the fact the live version is bad doesnt help to actually want to listen to this one.
But i could say that bout the whole album really. Only Pendulum feels great live.

Found it.guitar_davey wrote:Now I'm curious which song you're thinking of. Is it a more recent one or an old (70s) Aerosmith song? Do you remember any details about it?Lounge Lizard wrote:What's the name of that Aerosmith song tho, the one that has the exact same riff and vocal melody... Can't put my finger on it. Dang. It's been nagging at me for days.
Listen to the verse of Cheese Cake off the 1979 Night In The Ruts album.
It's not exactly note for note as I remembered it to be, and the riff is nothing alike, but the vocal melody is nearly identical.
I immediately knew I'd heard it before with Getaway. This is where from.

Funny, I actually have a soft spot for that record, despite the fact it's the sound of Aerosmith in the middle of imploding.Lounge Lizard wrote:Found it.guitar_davey wrote:Now I'm curious which song you're thinking of. I hear the part in the verses that you mean -- a lot slower, obviously, but I hear the melodic similarity in the vocal melody for sure.

Getaway ranks high on the very short list of PJ songs that I can’t always remember how the music goes.
Every sentence in my head, someone else has said.

Is everyone going to listen to this album on October 15th? Relive the processed magic of LB on the 10th anniversary.

Has there ever been a PJ album that needs to be re-mixed and re-released than Lightning Bolt ??rick malone wrote:Is everyone going to listen to this album on October 15th? Relive the processed magic of LB on the 10th anniversary.

This thread (see past couple pages) has given me new perspective on BO'B and the album. Not sure you can mix your way out of bad song writing and what's already been recorded ten years ago.
I find it refreshing to not hold out hope it can be fixed if only they rework it for a reissue. It's ok.
