It's really good, just a little over-produced. Doesn't bother me as much as it bothers others.

:ohyeah!:
If they end up releasing 2 albums in the next 3 years Jeff will be bitching for the next 20 that he wishes he could have spent more time with the songs before recording them.

Jeff can bitch as much as he wants as long as we get good tunes.

If they release 2 good albums in the next 3 years Jeff can bitch forever and they can break up for all I care. Rather that be the reason than because ed fell off one of those stupid lantern thingies and broke his neck/hip at age 70.

the production of 'Pendulum' is impeccable.
O'Brien did good here.

btw, I can't belive 'Pendulum' wasn't transformed into a 10-minute electronic composition by someone like 'Fatboy Slim' yet. It's practically begging for it.

My initial reaction to hearing this song was "it should have been the opening track on the first post-Riot Act album".

If this had been the opening track, everything else would have to comply in quality. The standard is too high for an opening track, sadly.

Yeah. The more I listen to the whole album (minus FD because that still doesn't exist) the clearer it becomes to me that this is by far the best song on LB, it's not even close. And I actually like most of the songs on this thing! Pendulum is as good as their best materiel imo and I couldn't say that about anything from the past decade.
