Moonlander - Stone Gossard

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

I listened to this after being disappointed with the LB leaks. The music here is miles better than the stuff PJ has been doing for the last 10+ years, too bad I just can't stand his voice.

Idk what has happened but I haven't been able to see any image you have posted in the past couple weeks and I'm a lesser person for it.

Eat some cookies. Or whatever. Clean out your briefcase. You know what I'm trying to say.

if only stone had neutered ed and declared during an initial LB session, "look, jeff and i are taking the wheel this time, and we're using the music from moonlander and pendulum to motivate the rest of the album. also, your plugs look like sh*t."

Beyond Measure is such a nice song. The guitars and those little noises in the background are really cool....who plays piano here?

I'm listening to this for the first time now. It's great. Instrumentation, arrangement, lyrics. Great. I don't know who plays the drums but it could be Jack Irons. There's a Yield vibe to some of it. It's good evidence for the theory that PJ are using their best songs for other projects. Makes it even more frustrating that Stone would allow LTRP on the record.

I haven't heard the whole RNDM album yet for exactly that reason.

"King of the Junkies" sounds a bit like Hotel California in a couple of those chord changes.

He should've saved the music for I Don't Wanna Go To Bed for Pearl Jam.

I disagree. It's a treat hearing this music without Ed's superfluous H sounds and elongated vowels.

True. The final product would've been mangled.

These songs haven't been 'fixed' and they're pretty wonderful for it.
