Let's have the gas conversation. We'll call them spoiled brats who don't know how good they have it and they'll call us crazy for paying the prices we pay:)
Actually lets not.

Yeah. I haven't done any comparisons but, using whiskey as an example, a bottle of Jameson is $48 here ($40 if you're lucky and find it discounted), Canadian Club is $36.cutuphalfdead wrote:Apparently booze is super expensive for you guys too.Birds in Hell wrote:I have to admit, on some level, I enjoy the (moderately) shocked reaction whenever I post what things such as movie or concert tickets cost here. Yeah man, but it's different cause it's Pearl Jam. They rose from the ashes of Mother Love Bone.McParadigm wrote:There's nothing to what they're doing (running a pseudo-indie legal entity heavily supported by Universal's massive distribution infrastructure) that is any different than plenty of other acts have undertaken over the years. They've managed to keep CD prices high, and done so on their own terms. You have to respect that.

They're in no danger when it comes to keeping their kids fed.

Yup. I empathise with the arguments about this band selling out. It's always fun to join in. But I didn't really get into them for their unrivalled ethics and indie cred. That was a road they travelled for a while and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what this band was early on, and I never expected it to be what the band would always be.Lament wrote:They've managed to keep CD prices high, and done so on their own terms. I've been stashing a $10 best buy reward zone certificate just for this occasion....so2344 wrote:Long time member had to reactivate acct to ask you guys 1 question: why is LB so expensive? It is $14.88 at amazon and $15.99 (!) at best buy!
Anyone have insight into this?
Thanks and glad to be back on here for this release!

What's funny is that the band are the ones responsible for getting the fanbase to believe that it was such an integral part of who they are/were. It ended up being so important to a lot of the fans because Pearl Jam was pretty insistent about how important it was to them.harmless wrote:Yup. The non inclusion of Better Man (live) keeps it from being their Abbey Road.lecherouslittlestump wrote:If Backspacer was their Sgt Peppers, then Lightning Bolt is their Let It Be
