It’s fucking great that Slash has never changed his image.

Re: Even more Guns N Roses Hilarity
listening to the ¨new song¨ right now
this is pretty much the same song Axl had for Chinese. Im sure the vocals are from those sessions too. I dont remember the solo that much, im sure thats changed, but its not a new song or reworked version at all.

Re: Even more Guns N Roses Hilarity
Just saw these guys in hershey n once again put on a great show.. 3+ hours no set break
Also, I kinda like the "new" single.. good late career song.. wasn't expecting another appetite, they're not in their 20s in the midst of 80s LA anymore

I actually like this song a lot. Is there something wrong with me?
It has that "November Rain" piano thing going on, but it doesn't suck.

GnR with Carrie Underwood in Nashville
We worked this show tonight and our booth had a clear view to both video screens and we hear everything as good as ticket buyers. We’re basically paid for going to the show. And what a fantastic show.
Carrie- she far exceeded my admittedly low expectations. Being totally honest, she was my favorite to win her season of American Idol from her very first audition. I’ve long been a fan of her voice. Just haven’t cared for the type of music she’s decided to build her career on. She came into this knowing her audience. She opened with Bad Reputation by Joan Jett and turned in a flawless performance. She did about half covers and the other half her more “rocking” tunes. She did the Heart tune she fucking slayed on during AI. She did Rock n Roll by Zep right into Ace of Spades. Yes, the Motörhead song. And she absolutely fucking nailed it. Her weakest tune was Wild Horses. Her voice just didn’t seem to suit it. I don’t know how many of these, if any, are in any kind of rotation in her regular sets, but all in all, she was fantastic.
Guns ‘N’ Roses
Opened with It’s So Easy and it just balls out jammed. They went thru a run of tunes some of which were typical from current set lists and some not. Including Slither by Velvet Revolver. I know they’ve been playing it for a while and I don’t know how Slash and Duff talked Axl into doing it but I’m glad they did. It fucking kicked ass. They did do a few tunes that I didn’t get back in ‘91 when I saw them. You Could Be Mine being one of them. It was absolutely insane back then that they didn’t do it with Terminator 2 being so huge, but they didn’t. They sure as shit did it tonight tho. A definite highlight. Another one I never got back then was Rocket Queen. By far the best song of the night. The had a hugely extended middle section where Dizzy, Slash and whoever the second guitar player each took a long solo. Started with Dizzy’s keyboard and it was great. Then the second guitarist. Don’t know who he is but his solo was the best of the night. By far with no comparison. Then Slash. He tried to hold his own and he threw some non-Slashy licks in there but he was simply outclassed on it. All while being held down by that funky groove by Duff’s bass and drummer guy. It took me 36 years to hear it live and it was worth it. I also got Nighttrain to close out the main set tonight. Pretty standard version but didn’t get it before. Carrie came out on Sweet Child and Paradise City which leads me to my comments about Axl. For the most part, he was able to make it thru everything and you really wouldn’t think about it or notice until Carrie came out and nailed the tunes in perfect pitch. He would be better off either singing some of it with lower pitched harmony melodies or simply having the band tune down. It would actually sound better than him almost having an aneurysm trying to hit those notes now.
My only disappointment was no Mr Brownstone. But at the end of the day, it was a great motherfucking concert and I’m glad we were there.

Yeah, they are on fire this tour. I saw them last year and was surprised, specially with how happy Axl was. He is great shape really.
The setlist this year is pretty cool too, not only the new song, but also Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, Anything Goes...pretty cool stuff.

Has there ever been another band to get such longevity out of only 3 albums?
