Too late. I'm watching Night Moves. I'll probably watch The Getaway next week. It's been on my list for a while.

I saw The Getaway for the first time recently, and really enjoyed it. It's got style. Steve McQueen doing the Steve McQueen thing, can't go wrong. I saw Night Moves a long time ago and remember it not

Night Moves has been good so far. I love a good private eye movie.
I'm definitely going to watch The Getaway. I love McQueen and don't want to miss it while it's up on Max.
Tomorrow night will either be that or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - I'm on a Paul Newman kick currently.

Darkest Hour
«In May 1940, the fate of World War II hangs on Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on knowing that it could mean the end of the British Empire.»
Taking a chance on watching this alone, as my wife recently described it as boring when we looked through the 2017 that we have yet to see this year.
Great performance by Gary Oldman, and I do not agree with my wife about this movie.
Will do the same with The 12th Man. A Norwegian world war 2 movie that also came out in 2017.

Thelma
Starting Thelma before heading out. One of two Norwegian films I’ve got left from 2017 (the other is What Will People Say). It’s made by Joachim Trier, which recently had success with The Worst Person In The World.
«Thelma lives a normal student life away from her conservative parents. But she begins to realise that something is strange about her. Soon she discovers that she has supernatural powers which are not completely under her control and faces their consequences.»
Will see American Made, Logan Lucky and Professor Marston & the Wonder Women later.

Night Moves was really good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys detective stories or just likes Gene Hackman.
Tonight I'm going with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

That was a hell of a movie. Great chemistry between Newman and Redford. I've gotta check out The Sting.tommy wrote:Night Moves was really good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys detective stories or just likes Gene Hackman.

The Death Of Stalin
Always thought I would enjoy it, but when I saw it with someone who didn’t appreciate it back when it was new, I think that atmosphere pulled it down a little. Saw it alone this morning, and had a really good time.

The Disaster Artist
Hoping it will be a similar story with this one. Thought it was ok back in 2018, but thought I would like it a little better. A second viewing coming up now.
Edit: I am indeed enjoying it. It’s a bit odd, but the setting and the acting is quite funny.
After this: 80 movies left from 2017, including 50 I’ve never seen before.

Molly’s Game
This is pretty good. Intriguing true story of Molly Bloom, expertly played by Jessica Chastain.
Hostiles and The Square afterwards.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
