Has anyone tried putting the CD in their stereo and rewinding track one? Mostly it's just funny as shit.
Not relevant to the music, or some terrible betrayal of character. It's more like Ed's boot rage or Stone's stylistic similarities to DJ Lance from Yo Gabba Gabba.
Just great fodder for jokes.

It is all part of their anti corporate strategy to make you buy it through the 10cblueviper wrote:I've been stashing a $10 best buy reward zone certificate just for this occasion....so2344 wrote:Long time member had to reactivate acct to ask you guys 1 question: why is LB so expensive? Anyone have insight into this?
Thanks and glad to be back on here for this release!

Yeah, I guess so. I was always sceptical of that, simply because of how bloody large their fanbase was. It was world-wide, not "cult". Also, for their entire career they've been entertaining the idea of classic rock / HoF tradition whilst talking about ethics. There was always this paradoxical, contradictory tug-of-war going on between the quiet, ethical indie band and the rock gods who were friends with Springsteen, Uncle Neil, The Who and Bono. When a band becomes famous enough and achieves that kind of status, some of them are going to say "Yes please." I don't think they've done a 180 as much as just close the gap on their confusing bipolar approach (which, let's face it, has split fans down the middle on every record).Lament wrote:What's funny is that the band are the ones responsible for getting the fanbase to believe that it was such an integral part of who they are/were. I empathise with the arguments about this band selling out. It's always fun to join in. But I didn't really get into them for their unrivalled ethics and indie cred. Mine just has some garbled nonsense that sounds like "BoB is twerking."

Can someone paste Brendan's head onto a gif of Miley Cyrus twerking? Thanks in advance.

Ed was always incredibly well-meaning at the same time as fickle, reactive and impressionable.

I might replace FD with Doug Getaway on my playlist. "Getaway (Reprise)"

He was pretty straight-up mean and aggressive towards some pretty easy targets fairly deep into Pearl Jam's career.harmless wrote:Ed was always incredibly well-meaning at the same time as fickle, reactive and impressionable.

To be fair they'd probably admit it if someone asked em about it. Someone asked them about why their ticket prices were as high once, and who ever it was being interviewed ( i can't remember lol) gave a pretty good response.harmless wrote:Yeah, I guess so. Theres also a interview somewhere where ed mentions maybe adding a couple of dollars onto ticket prices to give to various charities instead of speechifying the crowd and trying to convince them to give the money themselves

I wonder whether, if they could do the whole thing all over again, whether Ed might try a bit harder to like him?

Yeah, but anger towards Jewel in 2003 is perhaps getting a bit on the silly side.harmless wrote:That's true. That would be a cool interview. Get Gleason on this: "So guys, why the fuck have you sold out?"stupidmop wrote:To be fair they'd probably admit it if someone asked em about it. Ed was hilariously assholish in 2003. More rants than any other year i think. There was that whole shitting on girls heads thing, and theres a boot somewhere where after a song he screams "Too much time betweens songs and can i get some fucking lights please" into the mike, which sounded beautifully diva-ish.Lament wrote:Yeah, but anger towards Jewel in 2003 is perhaps getting a bit on the silly side.harmless wrote:That's true.
