It's pleasant, but wrong. Take it down unless she and Platty have a number of mutual friends attending. Otherwise it will look like she's a trophy guest and frame her as her celebrity and not a person. i.e. let her define herself to strangers instead of doing it for her.

But also it depends on the kind of head you have on your shoulders these days. If you're gonna be weird about it and can't help it, take it down. If you feel more comfortable as the evening progresses you can make a talking point out of it and hang it back up, in a sort of ceremonial way. It can be endearing to open up about your neuroses to your new friends, if done the right way. Artists tend to be neurotic so she'll probably relate.
This is it. Take it down before the party. Then, in the middle of the party climb atop a table and demand everyone's attention. Tell them all that you are living a lie, show them the picture, maybe cry a little, admit the truth, and hang it back up. Maybe smash and tear the false picture you replaced it with. Cry some more, collapse in a heap on the ground

This is close to exactly what I was envisioning, but only if the party is going well; people are getting comfortable, discussing their hopes, dreams, and fears and whatnot, and you feel comfortable enough to do so.

Yes! Also, Jorge, make sure that you have consumed way more alcohol than everyone else by this point and that they are all aware of it. Maybe do a little dance or honk a horn every time you pour yourself a new drink

Yeah, and maybe before pouring your drink, very loudly exclaim something like, "Oh boyyy! Someone should stop me cause every time I have more than 2 drinks I do something stupid and reveal wayyy too much about myself!!" But DO NOT let anyone stop you. This way you will have an excuse if it doesn't go over well. It was the alcohol's fault, not yours.

Agree with all of the above - also, suggest you brandish the largest kitchen knife you have during this speech, waving it regularly and using it to point at things, and then holding it to your wrist at the end when you ask if anyone has any questions

I'm not sure about this advice. It feels like Jorge would look more foolish than usual if he did any of that.

Don’t even know what’s going on, but this is sound advice.

Same. I think you and I are two of the most reasonable posters here, so he'd probably only need us.
