is it supposed to be whether? spell check is ok with it but it just looks ugly
and on topic, i hear people say that Matt just go back to soundgarden full time instead of PJ, and while he may still have strong feelings for SG, why would he choose a band that broke up for over 10 years to the band that has been together uninterrupted for almost 22 years?

I think he's financially stable enough to take that risk. Comes down to where his passion is.

thats a good point, and if SG broke up again soon then he has a wife and kids so he might just be happy staying home, but unless somehow jack came back to the band, i dont want Matt to go anywhere

That little breakdown thingy they do in MITS is pretty fantastic, and Matt does nail that song. I love when he pops the snare to end that weird breakdown.
His work on God's Dice, Insignificance, Big Wave, Can't Keep, Got Some, and Hitchhiker is pretty fantastic too.

thanks for pointing this out...yeah, his work there is amazing, the song itself is great but the work Matt and the guitars are doing is just...astonishing.
Had Soundgarden not been on hiatus at the time when Jack left the band, what do you think happens with PJ? Who would fill his place? Would they go on hiatus themselves?

i would hope they would have another friend to fill the spot, but i have no idea who all they actually know, maybe they would have gone with out a drummer as far as recording new stuff. thats definitely something crazy to think about

I've thought about that possibility, with Matt having to choose between his 2 bands. Maybe record with Jack and then find an available drummer for when they tour. And then we could see records with guest drummers like Grohl or even Phil Selway. Barrett Martin would be another interesting collaboration. Or even myself.

Josh Freese is the drummer in The Vandals, also a big session guy and friend of Stone's.
They both auditioned for Pearl Jam after Abbruzzese was fired, losing out to Irons.
Stuverud plays drums on the Nothingman demo on the Vitalogy reissue.
Do we know when the Nothingman demo was recorded? I haven't heard it much and not since it was released but did it have vocals? If so then that is a bit of a slap in the face for Dave and he must have known that it was on the cards.
Yes, Ed sings on it - I can't recall if a recording date was indicated. I wonder if perhaps Jeff and Richard recorded it as an instrumental with Vedder recording his vocals later?
Oh, and didn't Chris Friel (?) from Shadow (and some of the early instrumental PJ demos) play on Catholic Boy? I presume that was recorded in that mid-late 1994 post-Dave pre-Jack period.
