So when you sit down at like a chain restaurant you address the server by their name? I find I usually use sir/ma’am instead. Using the name feels like an exercise of power over someone by assuming a level of familiarity that isn’t present

If they introduce themselves by name, I address them by name. It's not "an exercise of power," jeez
