For me I think the Star Wars franchise (that word destroys everything it touches) has become diluted.

If you have a glass with some Coca Cola* in it and take a sip, it tastes nice and refreshing. That's the OT. Now add water to it. That's the prequels. Add more water. That's the ST. Add more water. That's the TV shows. Take a sip. It ain't gonna taste like Coke.

It was a perfectly good analogy and I stand by it! Never Surrender!

I watched the first episode again today before work. I'm blown away by how well Dave executed the tone. Having a "crawl" again (something I've strongly campaigned AGAINST). The music. The images. The look. It's like a sort of subtle, mini reboot in it's own way. This is a new story, a new era. There is definitely a harkening to the "old days" but it's also a new take in so many ways. And it's steeped in mythology. It feels like I'm back in college and studying dramatic structure, reading the Greeks. Of course the fact that Ahsoka is my all time favorite Star Wars character doesn't hurt. But the themes and the scope of this thing is really magical.

i mean if the jedis are around the sith must be around

the interesting part would be if the new republic is fed up with all this jedi - sith drama and hunt them both, or if the sith are not a thing then the jedi become the new villain.

Because of the whole balance thing, I imagine there will be some sort of dark side force as we get into the New Jedi Order. But I'd be okay with a more lowkey (still high stakes) antagonist in the first movie. And I'd be okay with a new dark side force, not Sith. Something different that we haven't seen before. But I'm also open to a Sith return. Both could be interesting in different ways. All depends on the story they want to tell. I'm in either way.

This is why i love this man and wanted to take him home and just adore him.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
